Weldon Marion Reed passed away on Monday, April 7, 2025, in Crowell, Texas. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 10th at Gilliland Baptist Church, with interment to follow at Gilliland Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Crowell.

Weldon was born on July 2, 1934, in Gilliland to Grover "Toy" Marion Reed and Zethel Lee Chandler Reed. He married Jean Lockridge on July 6, 1981, in Wichita Falls, Texas.

A true farmer at heart, Weldon had a deep love for the land. He was passionate about cars, racing, and mechanic work—but most of all, he loved his family.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Reed of Crowell; sons, Grover Reed of Crowell, Randy Reed and wife Mell of Guthrie, and Marshall Reed of Benjamin; daughter, Beth Reddin and husband Michael of Baird; and stepdaughter, Misty Hibbs of Quanah. He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Weldon was preceded in death by his son, Scott Reed in 1977; his parents; and his brothers, E.O. Reed and "Peewee" Lawrence Reed.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Gilliland Cemetery.
