Ruth Ellen McBeath, 78, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2020.  A funeral service is planned for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 6 ^th at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Crowell. Her granddaughter, Jordan Davis, will officiate. Interment will follow at the Crowell Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m., Wednesday, August 5 ^th at the funeral home.

Ruth Ellen Short was born April 8, 1942 to Grover Cleveland "Keb" Short and Flora "Ma" Bryant Short, in Thalia, Texas. She married Lindel McBeath in Thalia. They became parents to three children before Lindel preceded her in death on May 3, 1971. Ruth Ellen was a Licensed Vocational Nurse and a Licensed Dietary Manager.  She attended the Assembly of God Church.  She enjoyed making homemade candy, going to casinos, and playing scratch off lottery tickets.

Survivors include her 3 children: Sherilyn Alvarado, and husband Jesse, of Thalia, Marlon McBeath of Crowell, and Randa Guerra, and husband Cecil, of Amarillo, Texas; 9 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.

The family suggests that memorials be made to the Crowell Cemetery or the Thalia Cemetery.
