Pauline Scott, 85, of Crowell, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2020 in Vernon.  A graveside service is planned for 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 11, 2020 at the Crowell Cemetery. Rev. Terry Tamplen will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m., Thursday evening, at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Crowell.

Ellen Pauline Wheeler was born March 9, 1935 in Foard City, Texas to John Thomas and Bessie Foster Wheeler. She was a graduate of Crowell High School, and a lifelong resident of Foard County. She married George Louis Scott on April 17, 1954 in Crowell.  Pauline retired from banking at the Crowell State Bank. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Crowell but also attended Abundant Life Church. She enjoyed quilting and genealogy; was a member of the 42 Group and Wednesday Afternoon Coffee Club.  She loved get-togethers with family.

Survivors include 3 daughters, Debbie Pontius and husband Dennis of Newcastle, Oklahoma, Barbie Lytle and husband Mark of Vernon, Carol Sue Nichols and husband Keith of Crowell; siblings, Robert Wheeler of Iowa Park, Genell and Delton Brown of Crowell, Joe and Darlene Wheeler of Crowell, and Melvin (Pete) and Pat Wheeler of Stamford, Yvonne and Larry Browder of Quanah, Alvin (Boogie) and Dixie Wheeler of Iowa Park, and Gail and Bobby Fowler of Longview; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George, on March 30, 2005; and a sister, Helen Darlene Wheeler.

The family suggests memorials be made to Crowell Cemetery Association or Hospice of Wichita Falls.
