Max Gerhardt, Jr., 81, of Crowell, passed away in Wichita Falls on Sunday, October 11, 2020.  A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 19, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Crowell.  Interment will follow at Crowell Cemetery. Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 13th at Smith Funeral Home in Crowell.

Maximillian Gerhardt was born January 12, 1939 to Maximillian Gerhardt, Sr., and Adela Barrela Gerhardt in Yeso, New Mexico. He was married to Nieves "Snow" Arellano on April 15, 1964 in Plainview, Texas. They moved to Crowell in 1973, where he worked as a farm hand. Max was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Nieves "Snow" Gerhardt of Crowell; 1 son, Max Gerhardt, III, of Crowell; 3 daughters, Elise Parsley of Amarillo, Adela Durham of Crowell, and Ruby Manney of Crowell; 1 sister, Clara Garcia of Ogden, Utah; 10 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
