Marlon McBeath, 60, passed away Friday afternoon, May 3, 2024, in Amarillo. A funeral service is planned for 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 8th at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Crowell. Interment will follow at Crowell Cemetery. Mrs. Jordan Davis will officiate.
Marlon Lynn McBeath was born May 27, 1963 in Crowell, Texas to Homer "Lindel" McBeath and Ruth Ellen Short McBeath. Marlon attended The Jane Brooks School for the Deaf in Chickasaw, Oklahoma, and also attended the University of Science and Art. He owned his own business; worked as a custodian at Cowboy Church, Rolling Plains, and Calvary Baptist. He also worked in maintenance at Vernon State Hospital and assisted Cathy Fox teaching sign language at Vernon College.
Survivors include his sisters: Sherilyn Alvarado and Jesse of Crowell, and Randa Guerra and Cecil of Amarillo; 2 nieces and 3 nephews: John Lindel Alvarado and Cady of Crowell, Alex Guerra of Wichita Falls, Jayton Chavers and Brighton of Amarillo, Kyndell Hopkins and James of McCauley, Texas, Jordan Davis and John Ryan of Amarillo; 5 great nephews: Clayton, Kyson, Cowen, Maverick, and Kaden; 3 great nieces: Moxie Belle, Aubrey, Julia Rose, and one great niece on the way; also extended family and many good friends.
In his memory, the family suggests donations be made to Thalia Angel Park.
