Marjorie Ruth Barker Bell, 90, passed away Friday, October 9th, at her daughter's home in Mount Airy, NC.

A graveside service is planned at 1:00p.m., Wednesday, October 14th, at the Crowell Cemetery in Crowell, Texas, under the direction of Smith Funeral Home of Crowell. Visitation will be held at the funeral home in Crowell at 11:30 until 12:30

Born on February 26, 1930 to Roy Barker and Vera Canup Barker, Marjorie Ruth was called Ruth by her friends and Family and many still call her by the nickname "Booty" given to her by her little brother that could not pronounce Ruthie.  She was born in Crowell and attended all Crowell schools, graduating Crowell High School with the class of 1947.  She married Howard Bell in 1949.  They were married for nearly sixty years until his death in 2006.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Crowell.

Survivors include her children- daughter, Sara Bell Walser and son-in-law Jim Walser of Mount Airy, NC,  son, Keith Bell and daughter-in-law Julie Barnes Bell of San Antonio, her sisters Judy Barker Dreggors of Seguin and Betty Barker Caldwell of Dallas, 4 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Crowell Cemetery Association.
