L.M. "Son" Glover, 95, passed away Tuesday morning, April 14, 2020 in Crowell. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Son was born November 2, 1924, in Crowell, Texas to Lawrence Powell and Bennie Reid (Meason) Glover. He was married to Joyce Elaine Horn on September 18, 1945 in Vernon, Texas. Together they raised 2 daughters and 3 sons. Son enlisted in the U.S. Army on November 23, 1943, and served as a 1st Scout Paratrooper, Airborne Division, during World War II. He was wounded in action in France in September 1944, and again in Germany in December 1944. For this he was awarded the Purple Heart and Oak Leaf Cluster. He was a member of the V.F.W. and the First Assembly of God church. Son graduated from Crowell High School in 2009.

Survivors include his daughters, Sharon McGreger and husband Ervy of Crowell, and Mary Jo Tole of Crowell; 3 sons, Delbert Glover and wife Toni of Crowell, Terry Glover of Crowell, and Jimbo Glover of Waggoner Ranch in Vernon; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Lawrence Powell Glover on September 25, 1974; mother, Bennie Reid Glover on December 13, 1980; 3 brothers, Thomas Fred Glover on June 17, 1980, Larry Paul Glover on August 9, 1993, and Joe Madison Glover on July 1, 2012; a sister, Glondon Payne on October 23, 2005; wife, Joyce Elaine Glover on November 16, 2002; daughter-in-law, Lee Meads Glover; granddaughter, Crystal Edwards; son in law, Nolan Glen Tole; nephew, Larry Glover; niece, Betty Lanette Glover; nephew, Michael Payne; and nephew, Roy Don Payne.
