Lanny Lester Baize 79 of Crowell, TX. passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022 in Crowell, Texas.

Lanny was born in Tuxedo, TX. to Lester Elton Baize and Jewel Ellen Bibb Baize on February 21, 1942. At an early age the family moved to Abilene, TX. where Lanny started to school. Later the family moved to Big Spring, TX. where Lanny graduated from Big Spring High School in 1960 and later attended Howard County College. He joined the Army National Guard in 1961 and served for 2 years. In 1965 he married Carol Weaver of Big Spring, TX. He was employed by TX U in Big Spring where he worked as a draftsman until his retirement. After his retirement he moved to California and lived for several years before coming to live in Crowell, TX. in June of 2010,

He was a devout member of the Church of Christ and preached in various places around where ever he lived, He conducted the marriage ceremony for two of his nephews and a niece and one great nephew before his illness. Even during his illness, he never faltered from his faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lester and Jewel Baize and his three brothers: Reed Baize, Don Baize, and Brandt Baize. He is survived by several cousins and nieces and nephews. He moved to Crowell to be near his nephew, Ronny Baize, his niece, Paula Moore, and his sister-in-law Mrs. Brandt Baize (Donna Baize).

A graveside service will be held in Gatesville, TX. at the Slater Cemetery on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at 3:00 pm to rest beside his mother and dad.
