Everson
Sep 10, 1951 — Jul 23, 2025
Crowell
Janis Everson, 73, of Crowell, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at the First Assembly of God in Crowell, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Janis was born on September 10, 1951, in Crowell, Texas, to James A. Bell and Sybil Meadows Bell. She married Ike Everson on November 22, 1970, in Crowell. A devoted follower of Christ, she was a longtime member of the First Assembly of God and lived her faith through service, kindness, and care for others.
Janis served her community as Foard County Clerk in the early 1990s and later as a teacher's aide for Crowell ISD for 15 years. She had a deep love for children and was known for her warm heart and willingness to help, often babysitting for family and friends. She enjoyed bird watching, cooking, sewing, and doing crafts—especially school projects, Halloween costumes, and festive Christmas sweaters.
Above all, Janis was a loving wife, mother, aunt, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Ike Everson of Crowell; her son, Zak Everson and wife Jody of Dallas; daughter, Melody Everson Harvey and Trent Harvey of Pflugerville; two grandchildren, Austin and Hank; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Steven Bell, and her sister, Donna Harris.
Memorials may be made to the First Assembly of God church in Crowell, PO Box 249, Crowell, Texas 79227.
