We lost our mother on April 3, 2022. She was loved and respected for her kindness and her generous spirit. She was always the first to rise in the morning and the first to volunteer to help others. She always made sure everyone was well fed and comfortable.

She married Walter Ramsey in 1940. She was a partner in the farm and ranch operations that she and dad spent 77 years building together. They gave back to their community in many ways. We can't remember a school function in which she didn't participate in some way.

For many years she was the heart and soul of the First Baptist Church in Thalia, faithfully playing the piano and teaching Sunday school. She played beautifully and made her home a place of music.

There were many cookouts at the Bunk House where friends and family gathered to celebrate birthdays, class parties, and anniversaries. She entertained there by cooking on a wood-burning stove. We still remember her fried steak, gravy, skillet potatoes, and her biscuits were everyone's favorite.

Her love and strength of family were the most endearing memories that we have of our mother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mack and Lucy (Husky) Gamble; her husband, Walter Ramsey and one grandson, Ramsey Mack Gafford.

She is survived by her daughters, Gaye (Jim) Henry and Mary Ann (Ken) Fergeson; her grandchildren, Jodi (Billy) Bond, Jarrod (Anna) Fergeson, Casey (Gabe) Gilliam, Billy (Michelle) Henry, and Fred (Lisa) Henry; and her great grandchildren, Levi, Jimmy and Lex Bond, Shelby and Brayden Henry, J. Henry, M'Lainy Churchwell and Donna Rich, and Halle, Bennett Foard and Maris Gilliam.

We would like to thank all of the competent and caring staff of the Crowell Nursing Center. We have been blessed by her good friend and caregiver, Zella Blackburn.
