Frederick Samuel Tennant, Jr., a devoted husband and respected entrepreneur, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 7, 2026, in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was born on September 23, 1964, in Corinth, New York, to Frederick Tennant Sr. and Alethea G. Allen.

After attending trade school, he embraced the path of an entrepreneur, contributing his talents and energies to the communities he touched. A member of Little Brooks and Abundant Life Church, Fred was a man of faith who found strength and fellowship in his church family.

On January 13, 2002, Fred married Susan Carlson in Saratoga Springs, New York, forging a partnership built on love. Fred was steadfast and supportive through all of life’s seasons, and together, they built a family filled with joy and lasting bonds. He truly loved spending time with his family and sharing his life with Susan.

An individual of many interests, Fred found joy in snowmobiling, motorbiking, exploring flea markets, gardening, listening to music, watching movies and wrestling, traveling, RVing, and bird watching. His affection extended to his beloved pets—dogs Jez, Dixie, and Bud; cat Tanner; and parakeet Coconut—who were cherished companions. His love for adventure was exemplified by his travels across the country and visits to casinos.

Fred leaves behind his wife, Susan Tennant, of Crowell, her daughter Julie Russell, along with Julie’s husband Matthew Russell, and Susan’s cherished grandchildren Asa and Coraline Russell. His family was a great source of pride and happiness to him. Fred’s brothers Rick Tennant, Ray Tennant, and Gary Tennant, all of New York, along with his father Frederick Tennant Sr. and Joan, also survive him, carrying forward the legacy of the Tennant family.

A visitation to honor Fred’s memory will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 12, 2026, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Crowell. Interment will follow at Crowell Cemetery.

Fred’s memory will forever remain a treasured part of those who knew and loved him. The family extends their gratitude for the support and compassion shown during this difficult time.
