Floyd Carl "Buster" Borchardt, 89, of Crowell, passed away Monday morning, March 2, 2020. A funeral service is planned for 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 6, 2020 at the First Christian Church in Crowell, with Mr. Jerry McLain officiating. Internment will follow at the Crowell Cemetery under direction of Smith Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m., Thursday, March 5 ^th , at the funeral home.

Buster was born in Crowell on October 14, 1930 to Floyd Doc and Mary Alice (Shannon) Borchardt. He graduated from Crowell High School and went on to serve in the United States Air Force during World War II. He married Thelma Smith on October 16, 1951 in Crowell. Buster was a member of the First Christian Church and the Crowell Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his son, F.C. "Butch" Borchardt of Dallas; and a brother, Wayne Borchardt of Harlingen, Texas. His wife, Thelma, preceded him in death on January 24, 2018.
