Ernie Statuto passed away at his home, in Crowell, Wednesday, April 10, 2024. A funeral service is planned for 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 15th at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Crowell. Pastor Rick Smith will officiate and interment will follow at Crowell Cemetery.

Ernest Statuto was born October 4, 1967 to Michael Statuto, Sr. and Hava Smeltzer Statuto in Saddle Brook, New Jersey. He and Cindy Frederick were married March 9, 1985 in Paterson, New Jersey. They became Foard County residents in 2005. Ernie was a member of the Texas State Guard and an RN in Trauma and Emergency Management at Wilbarger General Hospital. He was a "forever student" and held numerous degrees because he couldn't decide what he wanted to be. However, he held a strong belief in everything he did and always gave 100%. He loved his grand-children, they were his world.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy Statuto of Crowell; daughter Brandy Reneau and Price of Crowell; son, Cory Statuto and Casandra of Lubbock; grand-children, Liam, Luke, and Lexi; and brothers, Michael Statuto of Crowell, Joseph Statuto, and John Statuto of New Jersey.
