Donna Gail Vecera passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, in Granbury, Texas. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 1st, at Crowell Cemetery, with interment to follow. Visitation will take place from 12:00 p.m. until service time at Smith Funeral Home.

Donna was born on April 7, 1953, in Crowell, Texas, to Travis and Myrtie Ellen Bartley Vecera. She was a lifelong Methodist. Donna was a member of Crowell United Methodist Church then Granbury First United Methodist where she also attended the Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class. Donna lived at home in Crowell until the age of 40, when she moved to Granbury to reside at the Southern Concepts Group Home. There, she spent the last 30 years of her life, surrounded by many dear friends.

Known for her vibrant personality, Donna was truly the life of the party. She cherished her family and friends deeply. Her love for butterflies, bluebonnets, ice cream, and the Dallas Cowboys brought her joy, and her bright spirit touched everyone who knew her.

Donna is survived by her three sisters: Rhonda Naylor-Irby and husband Mike of Granbury, Texas, Anita Manley and husband Mark of Wichita Falls, Texas, Hedi Bucy and husband Dale of Sanger, Texas.

She is also survived by her cherished nieces and nephews: Jeremy Schaffer and wife Mary, J.T. Schaffer and wife Jordan, Samantha Thiessen and husband Ryan, Jordan Brown, Matthew Manley and wife Ashleigh, Denise Sullivan and husband Aaron, Haley Naylor, Kinsley Byles and husband Jack, Brooke Irby, and Garrett Irby.

Donna's legacy lives on through her numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom she adored.

She was preceded in death by her beloved niece, Michelle Manley, and her parents, Travis and Myrtie Ellen Bartley Vecera.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Crowell Methodist Church or to a charity of your choice.

To know Donna was to love her. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to all who loved her.
