Don Michael “Mike” Brown passed away Thursday, April 30, 2026, at his home in Crowell. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 4, at First Baptist Church in Crowell, with interment to follow at Crowell Cemetery.

Mike was born December 18, 1961, in Crowell to Joe Don Brown and Marilyn Jane (Stone) Brown Ainsworth. He married Kimberly Eason in Childress on June 7, 2002. Mike faithfully served as the Foard County Sheriff for 22 years and truly loved his role, dedicating himself to helping others in his community.

Throughout his life, he worked as a welder, farmer, and crop insurance adjuster, and also served as a field boss at the prison in Childress for 13 years. In his spare time, Mike enjoyed shooting, leather tooling, and spending time with his beloved boxer dogs. He was a devoted supporter of the Crowell Wildcats and a member of First Baptist Church in Crowell.

He is survived by his wife, Kim Brown of Crowell; his children, Shawn Michael Brown and wife Jill Renee of Amarillo, Brittany Kemp and husband Jeremy of Amarillo, Kimber Cunningham and husband Jonathan of Sherman, Brennan Lee Brown of Wichita Falls, and Destiny Banks and husband Isaac of Wichita Falls; his grandchildren, Dalton Kemp, BreeAnn Kemp, Rowdy Kemp, Abbott Cunningham, Barrett Cunningham, Natalie Rian Brown, Ava Cunningham, Lennox Brown, and Whitten Cunningham; his mother, Marilyn Ainsworth and husband Joe of Electra; his sisters, Melissa Douglas and husband Tim of Katy and Nancy Dyer and husband Paul of San Angelo; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his special pets, Shadow, Bella, and Lilly.

Mike was preceded in death by his father.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Foard County Sheriff’s Office.
