Charles Carroll, 82, passed away peacefully at his home in Crowell, Texas, on Saturday evening, December 14, 2024.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at the First Baptist Church in Crowell. Interment will follow at the Crowell Cemetery, with Masonic Graveside Rites. The family will receive friends for visitation from 1:00 p.m. until the service begins at the church.

Charles was born on July 3, 1942, in Vernon, Texas, to Chives Elton Carroll and Gilena Bernice Collins Carroll. He married the love of his life, Kaye Blackwell, on March 27, 1967, in Dallas, Texas. Together, they raised two sons, Duane and Michael, and built a life rooted in family, faith, and community.

A lifelong rancher, Charles dedicated himself to the land he cherished. He was a proud member of the Crowell Masonic Lodge for over 60 years and served as the director of the 4-H Horse Club for three decades, mentoring countless young people. He was also a devoted member of the First Methodist Church in Crowell.

Charles leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication to his family. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Kaye Carroll of Crowell; his two sons, Duane Carroll and his wife Maria of Crowell, and Michael Carroll and his wife Lezlie of Crowell; his brother, Kenneth Carroll and his wife Sharon of Gilliland, Texas; and his grandchildren, Blaine, Kelly Burkett and her husband Taylor, Colby, and Cooper. He is also survived by his nieces, Sarah Wilhelm and Amy Erhlund; nephews, Tyler Carroll, Russell Carroll, and Tab Wilhelm; and great-niece and nephew, Remi Wilhelm and Rhett Wilhelm.

The family suggests that memorial donations be made to a charity of your choice in honor of Charles's memory.
