Carl Wayne Rhodes passed away Friday, December 22, 2023 in Crowell, Texas A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 27th at Center Point Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12-2 on Tuesday, December 26th at Bethel Church in Crowell.

Carl was born in Bryan, Texas on August 8, 1940 to Gene and Lillie Belle Rhodes. He married his wife of 62 years, Barbara Fritz, in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico on June 28, 1961.

He was the pastor of Bethel Church in Crowell, Texas. He loved his family, and enjoyed farming, gardening, hunting, fishing, and telling stories.

Carl is survived by his wife Barbara Rhodes of Crowell, Texas; three daughters, Judy (Stacy) Malone, Debbie (Mike) Collins of Saltillo, Texas, and Frances (Al) Mowat of Pickton, Texas; one son, Ken (Laura) Rhodes of Crowell, Texas; eleven grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; two brothers, Gene (Punk) and John of Kerrville, Texas; two sisters, Aline Keith of Kerrville and Mary Wilton of Conroe, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Lillie Belle Rhodes; mother-in-law, Josephine Fritz; brother, Raymond Rhodes; and twin grandsons, Matthew and Andrew Mowat.

The family suggests memorials be made to Bethel Church, Rathgeber House, or the Crowell Fire Department.
