Billy Dee Daniel, 86, of Crowell, Texas, died Tuesday, March 19, 2019.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 22, 2019, at the First Baptist Church in Crowell. Interment will follow at Crowell Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Billy was born April 26, 1932, to Charlie C. and Laura Ona (Baylor) Daniel, in Ringling, Oklahoma. The family moved to Crowell in 1939.  He married Lena Ruth Hinkle on November 16, 1957 in Hereford, Texas.  They raised two daughters and one son.  Billy served in the U.S. Army from 1952 – 1954 during the Korean Conflict.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church and he played the guitar and sang.  Billy was retired from the State Highway Department.  He loved working in his yard and keeping it beautiful; and was a hospice volunteer.

He is survived by his wife Lena Ruth of the home; 2 daughters, Debra Jean Bond, and husband Bobby, of Crowell, Judy Lynn, and husband, Keith Beck of Vera, Texas; a son – Loyd Ray, and wife Teresa Daniel, of Electra; 1 sister, Ruth Cox of Crowell; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren; and 1 step great great grandchild.

Billy was preceded in death by 2 sisters – Inez Cress and Imogene Pope; and 2 brothers – J.C. and Bobby Daniel.
